Ours took three goes before finally leaving in his his late twenties, by then he was able to afford to buy a house..

A few u
years on and a house later, we stayed with him whilst ours was being completely refurbished.
After six weeks, he said.
"Have you any idea how long you'll be staying as it's six weeks now?"

"Well, " I said, "You stayed with us off and on for the best part of thirty years."

"Fair enough" he replied, but we were only there for a further couple of weeks.
